Part time Doctorates in Media and Communication 2020 in North America

The PhD is a doctoral degree, specifically called a "doctor of philosophy" degree. This is misleading because PhD holders are not necessarily philosophers (unless they earned their degree in philosophy!). That said, PhD recipients are able to engage in thought experiments, reason about problems, and solve problems in sophisticated ways.

Programs in media and communication can prepare students to become communication professionals with a strong foundation in the history and theory of communication. The ability to analyze visual culture helps facilitate the practical production portion of the curriculum.
