Introduction

This PhD Program is organized by the University of A Coruña with the collaboration of professors from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Within the new regulations (RD 99/2011), the Program is directed towards research, development and innovation (R & D & I) in three main thematic areas: Documentation Sciences, Communication Sciences and The Humanities. All this within the context of the Knowledge Society, taking into account the developments in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and changes in the production model towards sustainable economy models.

The term "Knowledge Society" refers to the framework of the Program. The components of present-day contemporary society, both in the historical and systematic dimensions, are framed there. In this way, the title of the Program seeks to be effective: it revolves around the effective search for new perspectives in the fields of Documentation, Communication and Humanities Sciences. Thus, along with humanistic research, it serves the three levels of scientific research: Basic Science, Applied Science and the application of Science, in the thematic domains mentioned.... [-]
