The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) aims to enhance the way we use technology in communication, data science, computing systems, cyber security, power electronics, intelligent control, and many related areas.

The Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest is a technical university that educates high-level specialists in the fields of civil engineering, building services engineering, mechanical engineering/technological equipment and machines, environmental engineering, geodetic engineering, management in civil engineering, and systems engineering.

The branch develops manufacturing technologies in mechanical engineering by deepening the knowledge of natural and economic disciplines. The latest knowledge and methods of research in the field of technological processes and their management are developed and applied. The graduate is prepared for research and teaching professions in structured departments of scientific and academic institutions and other technically oriented subjects and companies.

The Program is organized by the University of Ljubljana through its faculties: the Biotechnical Faculty, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy, the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, the Faculty of Maritime Studies and Transport, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, the Faculty of Law, and the Veterinary Faculty. The Program is coordinated at the university level by the Program Board, consisting of representatives from each faculty. The collaborating faculties are responsible for the delivery of the Program.The main emphasis of the Program is the students’ research work, so choosing their mentors at the beginning of the study is essential. In addition to acquiring research and laboratory skills, students are also offered theoretical knowledge through the choice of several types of courses. As a rule, all students with various orientations obtain fundamental knowledge on environmental issues by taking two core courses; additional knowledge can be obtained through the choice of elective courses consistent with their research interest.

Condensed Matter and Photonics (CMP) brings together scientists with complementary skills, to share knowledge and resources, to provide a focus and direction for the future of our physics research, and provide training for the next generation.

The aim of the doctoral study program "Thermal Engineering and Fuels in Industry" is the scientific education of professionals who are able to creatively solve scientific research problems in the field of thermal engineering, energy, fuel chemistry, ceramic materials especially for high temperatures and material and energy utilization of waste. . The graduate is able to independently identify and formulate a scientific problem, design and develop a method of solution and implement theoretical, experimental, computational or simulation activities aimed at solving the problem. Graduates of the field are ready to develop and design new technologies and thermal-technical and energy equipment, as well as to increase the technical level of existing ones, especially with regard to increasing productivity, saving fuels and energy while minimizing environmental impact.

Doctoral study program Chemical metallurgy is a modern scientifically oriented, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research program. The study is mainly oriented on the chemical aspects of preparation, extraction and recycling of metallic materials and the characterization of these materials. Furthermore, the study program is focused on the study of other inorganic materials in the solid and liquid phases. The processes of metals extracting from primary and secondary raw materials, the study of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys and also ecological aspects of metallurgical production impact on the environmenareis studied. The doctoral study program is focused on aspects of industrial technologies arising mainly from a chemical-physical basis and on the properties study of inorganic materials for the broad application areas. This study program brings up top-quality specialists with creative inventiveness and with the use in the labour market in scientific, research, development, management and production spheres in given and related branches.

The doctoral program Electrical Engineering is designed for independent researchers with broad professional skills in the area of electrical engineering and an in-depth basic methodological knowledge. The main fundamental goals of the program comprise: to inseparably link the studies with research and development work, to encourage a comprehensive understanding of electrical engineering and its role in the broader scientific context, to master the state-of-the-art methods and technologies, and to prepare doctoral degree holders for creative scientific research and development work in the field of electrical engineering and broader subjects. The doctoral program in Electrical Engineering is organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering with the cooperation of individual experts in the area from other faculties of the University of Ljubljana. The program is structured so that it gives priority to optional choices over the compulsory part of the studies. The offer of subjects in the program is wide and versatile, which gives students the opportunity to plan their research careers and follow the needs of future employers as early as possible. The program enables student mobility in the framework of both the organized forms of study and the individual research work.

Research is focused on understanding fundamental properties of materials, developing and advancing new aspects of experimental techniques for investigating these properties, and exploring the potential for developing applications of the materials under investigation.

Systems Engineering and Informatics (SEI) postgraduate study program follows up several master’s study programs at VŠB – TU Ostrava, Faculty of Economics, especially Information and knowledge management. This study program is scheduled for 4 years and graduates are awarded the Ph.D. degree. The program can be studied in several mutations – full-time and part-time, in Czech and in English.

The doctoral study program of Electrical Engineering Science is focused on the scientific research and independent creative activity in various sub-areas of the electrical engineering, including industrial electronics, automotive electronics, power electronics, electrical machines and apparatus, electric drives. Therefore, the study is focused on the deepening of the theoretical basis of electrotechnical branches and on the detailed introduction to modern knowledge in a narrower focus, on which the topic of the doctoral dissertation is followed. The doctoral study enables PhD students to build on the master's degree programs offered at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VŠB-TUO.

The Doctoral Program in Physical Engineering prepares its graduates for independent creative careers in three closely related major scientific and research areas, namely Physical Electronics, Solid State Engineering, and Structure and Properties of Materials.

By choosing courses with the guidance of his or her supervisor, each student can adjust the programme to his or her research interests.

The Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology's goal is to prepare graduates for scientific work. By attaining higher qualifications, including knowledge of foreign languages, Ph.D. graduates will significantly increase their career opportunities. Students who wish to continue their studies towards this Ph.D. can choose from 16 fields of specialization.
