The Ph.D. in Education is a three years research-based program. With the growing pace of technology and market competition, continuous education, as well as innovation, has become a necessity for the sustenance of organizations. This is a research-based, highly individualized course of study in a specialized area of education. It prepares candidates at the highest level as leaders and managers in higher learning institutions. These would be informed by theory and practice of current knowledge and research in four main areas of concentration that address: teaching, curriculum designs, administration and management of educational programs, child development and family studies, and general Christian education studies for church and parachurch educators.

The proposed Ph.D. program in Mathematics Education prepares students to address key research issues related to Mathematics education in the UAE. Students in the program will acquire expertise in applying and evaluating appropriate research methodologies to inform recent developments in the field of Mathematics education.

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programs in Individualized Interdisciplinary Program (Research Area)is designed for students who have well-articulated research goals which cannot be reached through established research postgraduate programs.

The proposed PhD program in Special Education prepares students to address key research issues facing the field of special education in the UAE. Students in the program will acquire expertise in applying and evaluating appropriate research methodologies to inform recent developments in the field of special education.

The proposed Ph.D. program in Leadership and Policy Studies in Education prepares students to address key research issues facing educational leadership in the UAE. Students in the program will acquire expertise in applying and evaluating appropriate research methodologies to recent developments in the field of education relevant to leadership and policy issues.

The PhD concentration in Science Education requires a minimum of 60 credit hours, 30 of which are to complete the dissertation. The degree requirement will be accomplished on a full-time basis where students can complete the program in about 3.5 academic years. The main objective of Science Education concentration is to prepare doctorate students to obtain leadership positions in science education as supervisors and teachers in various levels of schooling.

Research into education policy draws on a diversity of intellectual traditions, including critical social policy, poststructuralist theories of governance, feminism, theories of identity and cultural studies.

The Doctor of Educational Administration is designed to prepare experienced practitioners for senior administrative and policy-making positions, and pursue careers in policy, university or college teaching, and research. The students are able to specialize in the areas of administration and policy analysis in higher education, student development and student affairs, international and comparative higher education, historical and philosophical foundations of higher education, finance and economics of higher education, and organizational culture and change.
