Doctoral Programs in Applied Physics in Slovakia
The PhD is a doctoral degree, specifically called a "doctor of philosophy" degree. This is misleading because PhD holders are not necessarily philosophers (unless they earned their degree in philosophy!). That said, PhD recipients are able to engage in thought experiments, reason about problems, and solve problems in sophisticated ways.
Applied physics uses the science in the development and expansion of practical applications that affect research, technology and society itself. Industries that program graduates may choose to focus on include fiber optics, satellites, microchip technology, mobile telecommunications, aerospace, semiconductors, information technology and lasers.
Slovakia or Slovak Republic (Slovak: Slovensko or Slovenská republika, both names are officially recognized), is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Slovakia is a member of the European Union so if you are a citizen of another member state, you can legally reside and work in Slovakia without restrictions. Comenius Univerzity is the oldest existing Slovak university, in Bratislava.
