Introduction
The institute has actively engaged in teaching and research in applied geological sciences. Founded in 1991, this Institute now has fifteen full-time and five adjunct faculty members, offering both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees with emphasizing on the impact assessment of geohazards, geo-environments, and geo-resources. All students are highly encouraged to do publishable research in cooperation with their advisors.
Requirements for Graduation
- Required credits: 18 credits (not including 4 credits for required courses & 4 credits for Seminars)
- Duration of Study: 2~7 years
- Other requirements: Pass doctoral candidacy qualification examination, Publish at least two papers in SCI journals. (including at least one paper as the first author), Pass an oral defense of the dissertation.
